An oil tanker (Otherwise known as Vessels or VSL for shot), also known as a petroleum tanker, is a merchant ship designed for the bulk transport of oil. Source of Product: Our main source of product is the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), The NNPC Joint Venture Partners (JVP) and their certified allotees. With the NNPC maximum crude oil production capacity of 2.5 million barrels per day, Nigeria ranks has Africa's largest producer of oil and the sixth largest oil producing country in the world. Nigeria appears to have a greater potential for gas than oil. Nigeria's gas production in the year 2000 was approximately 1,681.66 billion scf, 1, 3715 billion scf was associated gas and the rest 310.16 billion was nonassociated gas. Brief Recent History on Nigerian Light Crude Oil Production: In 2011, A total of 867,475,616 barrels (2.38 million barrels per day) of crude oil and condensate was lifted for domestic and export purposes, showing a decrease of 4% against year 2010. Of the total quantity, NNPC lifted 386,504,028 barrels (45%), averaging 1.05 million barrels per day for both domestic utilization and export.
